United States of America (Press Release) June 8, 2008 --
Cape Verdean Zouk songstress Suzanna Lubrano has received another Platinum album for her third CD Tudo Pa Bo in the Southern African country of Mozambique.
Suzanna Lubrano visited Mozambique for the promotion of her new album Saida (Exit), due out in the United States next month. To receive Platinum for her previous album Tudo Pa Bo (All For You) is a big surprise for the popular African artist: "With large numbers of illegal copies on the market, selling over 40,000 official CD's in Mozambique is quite an achievement", says the excited singer.
Suzanna Lubrano previously received Gold and Platinum CD's in Portuguese Africa for her albums Fofo (Honey) and again Tudo Pa Bo. Over four years ago, the Cape Verdean songstress expanded her popularity when elected Best Female Artist of Africa at the Kora All African Music Awards, the African equivalent of the Grammy, at a TV show watched by over 600 million viewers across the globe.
Last year, Suzanna signed a record deal in the United States with Boston based Mass Appeal Entertainment. For more information: www.suzannaonline.com
Suzanna Lubrano, who already enjoys popularity in the United States among the large Cape Verdean community in New England, will be introduced to a wider American audience with the release of her fourth album Saida in July. Saida will be Suzanna's first nationwide release in the United States.
Backed by a wide array of producers, composers and musicians, including Ryan Toby (City High), Tracy Bonham, Jacob Desvarieux (Kassav'), Ronald Rubinel (Edith Lefel) and Marcus "DL" Siskind (Backtreet Boys, Queen Latifah), the diverse pop album contains 19 tracks: from Sexy Cape Verdean Zouk Love to more traditional Cape Verdean Batuku and delicate R&B ballads in English. As a bonus to well over 75 minutes of great music, the album includes a documentary DVD on Suzanna entitled Inside and Out.
